Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium is embarking on a whole new chapter in her life. She has enrolled at the elite Harvard University for her Master’s degree. The semester has now begun, and the princess is surprisingly relaxed.

Elisabeth of Belgium starts studying at Harvard

One day, Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium will ascend the throne. Until then, however, she will lead the almost normal life of a young adult – and is now starting her studies at the elite Harvard University. After graduating from Oxford College, she will go to Cambridge, Massachusetts, in other words on a big trip to America.

To mark the occasion, the official Instagram account of the Belgian royals posted new photos of Elisabeth of Belgium. “Hello USA! Princess Elisabeth has started her Masters in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School,” it reads.

The Harvard Kennedy School is an academic institution at Harvard University that specializes in political science, government, political economy, and public policy.

Elisabeth of Belgium’s casual college look

The photos show Elisabeth of Belgium in an unusually casual look. While the crown princess is normally dressed more formally, she can now be seen in a real college look: jeans, sneakers, and a cotton top. The brown top ends just above the matching braided belt. The student pairs it with flared-leg jeans from Tommy Hilfiger and green sneakers from Adidas. Of course, the obligatory jute bag and ring binder in her hand are also a must. Elisabeth of Belgium has also arrived at Harvard University in style.

The comments on the Instagram post are full of congratulations on starting university and moving to America. But there were also funny comments, such as: “Imagine making friends and then finding out she’s the Crown Princess of Belgium.” And another responded: “It happens more often than you think. It happened to a colleague of mine with King Philippe (editor’s note: Elisabeth’s father) when he was at university. What a surprise.”

King Philippe studied at Trinity College, Oxford University, and then at Stanford University in California. He has a master’s degree in political science.
