Queen Máxima visited Amsterdam a few days ago for a panel talk on finance and surprised everyone with a bold outfit. Instead of a business look, she opted for a lacquered look in an autumnal color.
Queen Máxima’s wardrobe is diverse and ranges from classic pieces to crazy headpieces and bright colors. At a panel talk with the unwieldy name “SparkOptimus Financial Services 2030 Women’s Leadership Circle” in Amsterdam, the 53-year-old appeared in a bold latex top.

The Queen was invited to the panel talk as a speaker and spoke about the importance of developing financial products, services, and policies that meet people’s needs and contribute to the financial health of households and customers. Queen Máxima is an advocate of the United Nations Secretary-General for financial health and is also committed to these issues in the Netherlands.
For this important contribution, she opted for gray fabric trousers with wide legs and khaki leather boots with heels. She paired them with a top in a similar shade, with long sleeves and a stand-up collar. The highlight is that the top was made from shiny patent material.
Top is from Natan Couture
Queen Máxima’s patent top is from the fall/winter 2024 collection by Belgian design brand Natan Couture. It is part of a two-piece set that also includes a knee-length, flared skirt made of the same material.
This is not the first time that Máxima has worn a piece by the Belgian designer. In the past, she has often been seen wearing pieces from his collection. Natan Couture is undoubtedly one of the Queen’s favorite designer brands.

How Queen Máxima’s look was received
Queen Máxima’s outfits have often been criticized. And this patent look was not well received by all Instagram users. One commented: “What ugly clothes she’s wearing.” Another simply finds it “awful,” and the Queen’s open, straight hair also seems to be a thorn in the side of some: “And the hair looks bad; it looks much better in a chignon.”
On the other hand, she receives praise for her commitment to financial issues, with one saying: “Thank you, that’s an important topic. It’s great that the reach is being used and that people’s interests are being championed.”
