Michael Douglas has two Oscars to his name, his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones was awarded the gold trophy in 2003, and now the famous couple’s daughter is probably aiming for similar goals. Carys Zeta Douglas is still at the very beginning of her career, but she has now landed her first small role.
First film role for Carys Zeta Douglas
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! At least that’s true of the Zeta-Jones-Douglas family. Michael Douglas brought his son Cameron Douglas into his marriage with Catherine Zeta-Jones from a previous marriage to film producer Diandra Luker. Cameron also embarked on an acting career, and now, 21-year-old Carys Zeta Douglas continues this tradition.
She is promoting her first film on Instagram, which is the short film F*ck That Guy. In a post, she writes: “I’m so proud to be a part of this.” The film will be shown at the “Proof Film Festival,” which takes place from October 18 to 20 in Los Angeles.
The comments under the post are full of congratulations on her first role, and Carys’ mother, Catherine Zeta-Jones, also took the opportunity to respond. She posted three emojis showing cheering hands.

For Carys Zeta Douglas, it will be the first big step out of her parents’ shadow. Before that, she led a fairly normal life away from the spotlight. She spent the first few years of her life with her family in Bermuda and was unaware that her parents were well-known actors. “I thought my father was a pancake seller. I didn’t know he was an actor,” she told Town and Country magazine in 2019.
She graduated from high school in 2021 and then enrolled at the renowned Brown University and majored in international relations and film. Her older brother, Dylan Michael Douglas, who is also pursuing an acting career, has already studied there.
Back in 2021, Catherine Zeta-Jones said about her children’s acting plans on “The Drew Barrymore Show”: “Their love for acting is so strong that although they’re studying politics and history at school, their passion is acting. She is now not only aware of her parents’ real professions but also accompanies them on the red carpet from time to time, as she did in 2023 at the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival. There, Carys showed up in a floor-length but low-cut white dress with lace embellishments, demonstrating a similar sense of style to her mother.
No wonder, as Carys also describes her as her fashion role model. “Fashion has always been important in my life because my mother is a fashion icon for me. I look at her closet all the time,” says the young actress.
