Jennifer Grey is known to many as “Baby” from the cult film “Dirty Dancing.” At the premiere of her new film, the actress sported an autumnal look. But would you have recognized Jennifer in the latest photos?
The peak of her career was 37 years ago! “Baby” actress Jennifer Grey was never able to repeat the mega-success of Dirty Dancing but has now celebrated the premiere of her new film A Real Pain. Indeed, one must look twice to recognize the now 64-year-old in the latest photos.
“Baby” from “Dirty Dancing” at the film premiere
In 1987, Jennifer Grey danced her way into the hearts of viewers as the innocent “Baby” in Dirty Dancing, enchanting them with her natural curls and innocent look. Following her success, she underwent a nose job, yet the anticipated role offers failed to materialize. In 2010, she told the online website The Frisky: “I went into the operating theater as a celebrity – and came out as an unknown.”
Nevertheless, Jennifer Grey never gave up acting and has regularly appeared in front of the camera in recent years. Most recently for the film A Real Pain, which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. Jennifer Grey wore a sequined midi skirt in burgundy and a matching top with long sleeves and a plunging neckline.
Jennifer Grey no longer looks like “Baby” from “Dirty Dancing”
The autumnal make-up harmonized perfectly with the burgundy look. Her hair is now a little longer, but still with light natural curls. However, a closer look is required to recognize Jennifer Grey in the latest photos. Although her signature curls remain, the facial features of the actress known as “Baby” have significantly changed since Dirty Dancing.
Dirty Dancing was shot 37 years ago, and the actress was only 27 years old at the time. While it’s natural for one’s face to change into their late 20s, Jennifer Grey has openly expressed regret over her cosmetic surgeries. A second operation was supposed to correct the first, but the actress was never satisfied with the result. “Overnight, I lost my identity and my career,” she once told the New York Times.

She doubted herself
Incidentally, the life-changing cosmetic surgery was the idea of Jennifer Grey’s mother, who convinced her that a nose job would boost her career. “My parents loved everything that was perfect. And my face should be too,” she wrote in her biography Out Of The Corner. But the exact opposite happened.
Jennifer Grey is still making films, but the big blockbusters are no longer with her. She has since discovered inner peace, affirming, “Life has taught me that I am amazing just as I am, a truth I’ve doubted for far too long.”
