Sophia Thiel has only just caused a stir with her new hairstyle and is already causing a stir again. This time, with a new tattoo that covers her entire forearm. However, the striking body art was not well received on social media.
Just a week ago, Sophia Thiel marked the beginning of a new personal era with a completely transformed hair color. “That was exactly THE change I wanted for a long time,” she wrote on Instagram. But that’s not all, because Sophia Thiel has now unveiled a new tattoo to go with her trendy “cowboy copper.”
Overview
Sophia Thiel shows off her new tattoo
In a marathon ten-hour session, Sophia Thiel received her first expansive tattoo. “I dreamed about it for so long, and finally, the time had come,” says Sophia Thiel in an Instagram video about her new XXL tattoo. She created the design together with her tattoo artist and continues: “Then we got started. We did the whole thing in three parts. On the back of the hand, on the top of the forearm, and on the underside.” It was Sophia Thiel’s first big tattoo, but she explains: “The pain was really limited; the most intense was a five out of ten. It was bearable, but I also had to sit for a while.”
Sophia Thiel on the meaning of her tattoo
When it came to the design, Thiel opted for a tattoo with fine lines. “My favorite artist since I was 14 has been Alfons Mucha, and I just love all that Art Deco and Art Nouveau stuff. And I wanted the whole thing on my hand too.”
Sophia also emphasized the importance of her tattoo’s deeper meaning, explaining, “The plant represents development, unfolding, and growth for me. The eyes symbolize the different things I’ve experienced, the different emotions, and that emotions are important. The koi I wanted on the underside has a very exciting meaning: strength, endurance, determination, and much more.” The tattoo artist also applied the koi freehand. Sophia Thiel’s tattoo is not yet complete, as she reveals: “The koi on the underside will be finished next week in the second session.”

Fan reactions to the new tattoo
Fans’ reactions to Sophia Thiel’s new tattoo are divided. Some are thrilled and congratulate her on this step: “I’m so happy for you that you were able to fulfill this lifelong dream,” writes one user, for example. But the majority don’t seem to be impressed by the motif. Many wonder why the intricate tattoo took so much time. They say: “What did you do with the remaining 9 hours?” Or: “Quite minimal and unremarkable for a ten-hour session,” another comments.
Others don’t seem to like the motif and tattoos in general, and so you read again and again: “Terrible, this self-destruction,” “Sorry, not your style. It’s sad that you’re desperately trying to be a different person. Stay as you are; you don’t really need that. Regrettably, this leads to an unfollow as it’s no longer visually appealing” or “How awful that looks. I have a large botanical forearm tattoo myself, but I really don’t like yours. It looks quite pretentious on you.”
Ultimately, Sophia Thiel is the only one who has to like the tattoo, and she seems completely thrilled: “The outcome is even more stunning than I had envisioned!” she cheers.
