Night care products that convinced us

Barrier Balance night care from Lavera

Recommended by Carmen Dörfler, STYLEBOOK editor
Classic night creams are often too rich for me. The result: pimples or dermatitis. So I usually use the “Organic Membrane Cream” from 48grams. During the transition period, however, my skin still has to get used to the lower temperatures, which means that my skincare can be a little richer. As I am prone to rosacea, I like to use the “Barrier Balance” night cream from Lavera, which supports my skin barrier with prebiotics. It also contains green tea, which has an antioxidant effect. And I love the green color of the jar, but that’s just a side note.

Cicalfate+ acute care cream from Avène

Recommended by Rebecca Stringa, STYLEBOOK editor
Avène’s Cicalfate+ Acute Care Cream is ideal as a night cream, especially for sensitive and irritated skin –but not only! If you usually like face basting with zinc ointment, you should definitely give this cream a try. With regenerating ingredients, it supports the skin in its natural recovery, which is particularly active at night. The thermal water it contains soothes the skin, while the cream leaves behind a protective film. This nourishes and regenerates the skin while you sleep.

Cold Cream from Weleda

Recommended by Catharina Deege, STYLEBOOK working student
One drugstore product that is always in my bathroom cabinet is Weleda’s Cold Cream. Although it can also be applied during the day in winter, I prefer to use it as a night cream. I’m a fan because it’s so rich that I wake up the next morning with a healthy glow. Despite its intense moisturizing, I feel like my skin can breathe easily. So the best thing is: small budget, big effect. The scent is quite neutral, which is why it is pleasant to sleep in, and there is no pungent perfume in my nose.

Face Care facial serum and Face Oil-Cell Active from Oliveda

Recommended by Sophia Hauk, photo editor
I have been using the Oliveda “Face Care Facial Serum” and the “Face Oil-Cell Active” for several years now – and I am still delighted with them. Before going to bed, I mix the two products together and apply them. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the ease of application but also by the fragrance. While other natural cosmetic products often smell very “healthy,” the two Oliveda products have a very pleasant scent. And: the serum-oil combination has also made my skin much clearer.

Day cream Hydrators and Oils Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA from The Ordinary

Recommended by Tari Tamara, STYLEBOOK editor
I’ve been looking for a good day cream that’s non-comedogenic and affordable for long enough, so I was happy when I came across The Ordinary’s Hydrators and Oils Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I particularly like the consistency, as it is not too rich but still provides my skin with enough moisture. Too rich care is simply too much for my skin, so I don’t use special night creams, but I simply use my day cream in the evening, too.
